First Quarter 2021 Newsletter
Covid-19
We all know about Covid by now…..and we will leave it at that. The only thing we can say is our staff have been very diligent and responsible. Keep it up guys.
Staff News
We have had a little wobble in our staff turnaround. I think the stress of keeping this ship afloat has taken a toll on some. Both Ruan Bothaand Peter Sprong from Design department left suddenly. Unfortunately the pressure was too much. But we have faith in the team at hand, with Ruan Rheeders, Marco and Kat working really hard ensuring our drawings are submitted in good timing.
The factory has been pumping and working to an optimum level and can only express my gratefulness for everyone’s efforts. As we missed the year end function, we did not issue service awards certificates in Dec 2020, however, we are planning a function limited Long Service Awards in next quarter due to Covid restrictions….sorry team….but the loved celebrations will soon resume.
An ISO management review meeting was held at the beginning of February and I want to thank all that participated and contributed. Pamela, was the lucky winner of the draw for a 1 week holiday to the Kruger….all of this just for attending and participating. Brava Pam. Thank you all for attending, your inputs and observations.
Further to this, SABS auditing team did an audit on the various departments and renewed our ISO certificate with no findings. Well done team, may we take what we have learnt and put it all to good use.
Projects
Following our last news letter, things were looking bleak, but we were noticing quite a lot of activity and had lots of visits from various customers. The good news is that, despite the endless efforts of our competitors to destroy us and to stop us from being awarded the Toyota tender, I am proud to say we overcame this battle and I want to thank our team from the drawing factory to sales and admin, WELL DONE. Now let us show them how well we can work and lets deliver a product we can all be proud of.
Obviously Toyota is the cherry on top, as there are many more other projects that we are busy with and lets not forget our house accounts and thank them for their patronage, Cashbuild, Boxer and Westpack. We will always support the clients that look after us and are loyal to us. We have been working on new projects together with Leroy Merlin (not an easy one at all) and Woolworths, keep going and doing your best and soon they too will be loyal house accounts.
Highlights
During this pandemic many activities were not socially acceptable, so the harvest was kept to a simple function but the grapes were superb. Lets hope that the 2021 harvest is a successful one.
Finally a Happy and Safe Easter to all and for those of you who are travelling please come back safe and sound.
